is a beautiful Holland Lop
that came to us from a large
scale rescue
on June 27th. More info to
come as her foster family
gets to know her.
UPDATE:
Cricket is a very gentle
soul who loves to listen to
downtempo music before
flopping out in her
litterbox. She enjoys the
quiet things in life,
contemplating her future,
and watching the busy world
take place around her.
Cricket is a very curious
but cautious girl, always
making sure things are safe
before proceeding. She is
also learning that hands
contain the best pleasures
in the world! Treats and
pets, of course! :)

Cricket in action?

Comments :: Sasha came
to Rabbit Rescue from the
Sudbury SPCA after several
hundred rabbits were seized
and rescued from horrible
conditions. She
came in with urine scald but
with proper care she is now
healed from that. Sasha is
a little spitfire. She is
full of energy and loves to
see just how fast she can
get going. Sasha is a
petite bun with a very small
head and delicate features.
She has a beautiful glossy
black coat. Sasha was
terrified of being touched
the first few days in her
foster home. But, already
she is coming to the edge of
her cage and periscoping to
see what is going on and to
beg for a treat. She has
already figured out how to
use her corner litter pan
and is keeping a viry tidy
and neat home. Sasha is
learning to enjoy being
petted and getting better at
being handled. Sasha will
likely do well as a free
range bunny. She is going
to grow into a lovely bunny
and will be spayed as soon
as possible. |

Pippi came to Rabbit
Rescue from the Sudbury
SPCA after several
hundred rabbits were
seized and rescued from
horrible conditions.
Pippi came to us with
four young kitts, about
three weeks of age. She
is a very good little
mom. She
had to be separated from
her babies, in order to
have surgery from an
untreated bite wound. She
wound up having a
mastectomy due to large
abscesses that were not
treated before we got
her. She
has also recently been
spayed by RR. She is
also being treated for
an URI. She is currently
at the vet clinic where
she can get round the
clock care, but we
believe she will be able
to go back to her foster
home shortly where she
continued to be spoiled
rotten.
Pippi is
nervous with people but,
already is learning to
take treats and although
frightened of being
picked up settles
quickly, when she know
she is safe. Despite
her fear, she has not
behaved aggressively at
all and with time will
become a lovely
companion bunny. Pippi
has a beautiful grey
agouti coat and gorgeous
broad face. She is
learning to enjoy head
and ear rubs.

Nellie came to Rabbit
Rescue from the Sudbury
SPCA after several
hundred rabbits were
seized and rescued from
horrible conditions.
Nellie arrived with a
respiratory infection
and has
been successfully
treated with
antibiotics, and her URI
is now cleared up.
Nellie has many
scratches, bites and
scars on her back and
sides. They are healing
well and she loves to
have gentle back
scratches.
Unfortunately, she
has chipped her incisor
teeth and has a few
small cuts to her lips
and gums. Her teeth
will be more closely
examined when she is
spayed. Nellie is a
timid little bun but, is
gradually coming out of
her shell. She loves to
be petted and massaged
and will give little
tooth purrs. She was good
for her medicine and sat
so nicely for her nail
trim.
Nellie is going to be a
lovely companion bunny.
She is already learning
to use her litter box
and has wonderful
manners. She is a
submissive bunny and
would likely do well
bonded to a gentle and
quiet, neutered male.
Nellie will be spayed very
shortly.

Hi, I am Buttercup. I'm not
yellow flower, but a
delicious cappuccino colored
sable point female lop. I
came to Rabbit Rescue on
June 27th 2011 after
being saved from yucky
living conditions on
Manitoulin Island.
When I first got to my
foster home in late June I
was very cautious about
people and my surroundings.
But, more
recently I
have decided to started
showing a lot of interest in
my foster mom, pets and
attention. I
was spayed in
late August. Like most
bunnies, I'm not thrilled
about being pickup up, but
I'll allow it. Overall, I'm
naturally a very social
bunny that just needs some
time to adjust to a new home
with a family that can give
me more time and affection.
I have always tried so hard
at being perfect at using my
litter box, but sometimes I
accidentally go over the
edge of box. I just need a
large, deep litter box and
we're all set. I also have
never been much of a chewer
and digger and if I go get
the urge, I focus on my own
toys. I prefer to live in a
spacious home that allows me
to come and go as I please
with a few small hops and
not a giant leap. I'm not
as quick or rambunctious as
some of my bunny friends, so
I'm great if you don't want
to find me on your bed or
coffee table.
I love food and eat all the
hay and veggies I'm given.
When I drink from my bowl I
sometime get a drippy, wet
chin which is really cute.
I've never met a dog or cat
so I can't tell you how I
would feel about them, but I
was curious about my bunny
roomate and may do well
bonded with a neutered male. Will
you take me home to day and
love me forever? I’ll be
your very best friend if you
let me!
Buttercup would like to
share her favorite treat
with you:

Hello! My name is Betty and
I am a pretty, sassy,
lionhead bunny! From the tip
of my toes to the twinkle in
my eye I am a sweet and
happy little girl. I was
rescued by RR and given a
second chance at a happy
life. And boy am I happy!
When I see my foster mom, I
zoom around and I love to
binky to show my joy! I just
can't contain it. I play all
day long with my toys, my
favourites are my cardboard
boxes which I love to
decorate by retexturizing
and shredding up. Also I
love to toss around my
jingle-ball and my wooden
toys, and even sometimes my
food dish! Oh, and food, I
am a very good bunny and I
always eat up my veggies and
my hay. Of course I enjoy
the occasional treat too and
I will toss my head and pose
for you if you are offering!
My foster mom says I'm just
about the best bunny,
because I always use my
litter box and I like to be
snuggled (with my 4 feet on
the ground!) I especially
like my face rubbed and I
will stretch out and take a
break from playing to enjoy
cheek-rubs. I am so happy,
the only thing that I wish
for is a home of my own
where I can have space to
play in a safe environment
and someone to love. Maybe
it's you, come on, I know
I'm irresistible!
Betty
came to us when she ran out
of time at the shelter.
Her start in life was not
good. She was badly
neglected and very timid.
Now with the love she
deserves she has flourished
into a very special little
lady that loves to play and
spend time with people. She
has wonderful litter habits
and would do well in a home
with lots of time to spend
with her.

Rogue came to RR after a

being raised for meat and
kept in inhumane conditions.
RR had her spayed June 2009.
She is a good natured bunny
and really enjoys being
petted. She has caught on to
her litter box very quickly.
She likes to explore new
areas. Her foster mom is
still getting to know her
and more info will be posted
about her soon. She would
make a delightful friend for
somebody!
Her favorite treat is a ripe
and juicy slice of peach,
and she also loves apples,
and of course carrots. She
is a vocal bunny andloves to
be pet on the head, except
when she's eating, then you
are sure to get a grunt. She
does great big bunny flops
and likes to lounge around
all stretched out. She also
does great binkies. Her
litter habits are very good. |

came to Rabbit Rescue Jan.
2012 after
being abandoned in a park. A
spirited bunny, she survived
extreme cold and evaded
predators by finding shelter
in a thicket. Fortunately,
she was found to be in good
health and she has not let
her tribulations get her
down. She has settled in
quickly in her foster home
and proven to be a
delightful, easy-going
rabbit who is meticulous
about using her litter bin.
She is extremely curious and
loves exploring any new
environment. She
is a curious girl and has
even jumped onto
a shelf during her
explorations. Like most
bunnies, Humber loves nose
rubs. Her favorite treat is
apple slices - she is
absolutely crazy about them!
Humber is comfortable around
cats. We do not know how she
feels about dogs as there
are currently no dogs in her
foster home. She
was spayed and health
checked in Jan. 2012. |

Apricot came to us from a

came to us with 6 of her
babies.
Apricot is a very sweet
bunny with a lot of energy
and spunk. She is extremely
friendly and greets her
foster mom whenever she
comes into the room and
circles her feet when out.
Apricot has a very healthy
appetite and loves her
pellets and hay! She also
enjoys her night salad of
greens (lettuce, parsley,
dandy-lion, carrot tops).
Her favorite treat is a
small piece of banana or
apple slice. She is learning
to use her litter box. She
loves her time out of her
cage and runs all around
stopping only for a moment
to be pet. After running
around she flops out on her
side with her back feet
behind her. She
is currently being treated
for an URI and is slowly
recovering. She will be
spayed once she is fully
healthy.

has now recovered from it.
Pinecone is a
curious and active rabbit.
She enjoys racing around on
the carpet and jumping up on
cardboard boxes, and even
her foster mom! Pinecone is
happy to scratch at and
shred cardboard and
newspaper. She enjoys
re-arranging blankets and
chunks of thick cardboard.
She loves to explore
everything and as a result
definitely needs some good
bunny proofing for her
outside time area and cage.
She flops down after her
active time and stretches
out as much as she can! She
is a friendly rabbit who
likes to be with her foster
mom and licks her foster
mom’s clothes. Pinecone
really enjoys to be pet
whether she is sitting,
lying or running around. She
has soft fur and looks like
a little snowball. She is a
friendly rabbit who makes
her foster mom laugh with
all the energy that she has

gives.
She has a good
appetite - she enjoys her
alfalfa hay and pellets!
Pinecone would do well with
someone who can provide her
with the environmental
stimulation – cardboard
boxes, cardboard, toys – and
the outdoor time to run
around that she loves as
well as the people time that
she enjoys. She makes a
wonderful companion rabbit
who is sure to win your
heart the first time that
you meet her.

Liza came to us in rough
shape, on June 27th after
being found in horrid living
conditions. She
was vet checked upon arrival
and it was discovered that
she has a very severe
untreatable eye ulcer.
Because of this, and because
how painful eye ulcers are,
she is having the eye
enucleated (removed) on July
6th. She
also came in with urine
scald and with an URI which
she is being treated for. She
is skinny, but otherwise doing
well. She also came in with
a litter of babies, which we
had to wean from her on July
5th in
order to do the surgery on
her eye and have her
spayed. We
think it would be lovely if
she could be adopted with
one of her babies. This
sweet girl has been through
So much, so it would be
wonderful if she could stay
with one of her babies. Please
considering giving her a
home…or adopting her with
one of her babies (please
note she IS able to be
adopted out separately from
any babies, and she would
probably do well bonded to a
neutered male). If you can
not give her a home, please
consider making a donation
towards her medical care.
Thank you. |

Lily is an active girl
from Manitoulin Island.
She is happiest having
the freedom to come and
go as she pleases, only
resting in her cage
after a good hard play
session. If you decide
that it is cage time,
look forward to some
pleading from Lily! She
will stand on her hind
legs and scratch her
cage to try and indicate
to you that she would
rather be free.
She loves her hay, but
is not much into her
fresh veggies yet. She
has shown only slight
interest in romaine
lettuce, and treats
carrots like toys.
Speaking of toys, she
really enjoys pushing
jingly balls around with
her nose, and tossing
her whiffle ball around.
She enjoys racing
through tunnels, and
over towels and
blankets, and will dig
in them eagerly with her
front paws.
Lily is still warming up
to us, but she accepts
her medicine with little
resistance, and will
accept petting on her
terms. She is most
interested in you when
you are lying quietly at
her level, and will
happily flop near to you
for some downtime and
quiet observation.

Cici is a very curious girl
with wonderful black and

She has made great strides
since going to her foster
home. At the
beginning she was very shy
and scared of hands. Once
she hears the
sound of her cage being
opened and she's out without
another thought
in the world. If her foster
parents sit long enough with
her she will
incorporate
them into her fun and even
allow petting from time to
time. Whether it's nuzzling
toes, hoping over legs or
just running
full blast from room to
room, Cici loves being out
of her cage and
exploring new places. She
will then only enter her
cage for food,
water, or to have a long
rest. Cici has mastered the
art of using her
litter box and will even go
back into her cage to use it
when she is
out and about. Although, she
does believe that it is a
good place to
take a nap.
Cici LOVES her food and has
slowly learnt that it will
not be taken
away if she doesn't eat it
all in one sitting. Although
carrots,
carrot tops and treats will
be devoured in seconds. She
feels most
comfortable being pet inside
her cage, when she is out
she would much
rather do the bunny Olympics
and hop happily about. This
bunbun is
full of energy and will show
you how to have a good time.
With the
proper love and care CiCi
will learn that hands are
safe and provide the
greatest gifts of all;
treats and pets. |

Sierra came

She was rescued from a
terrible situation. Sierra is
a female black lop with
super shiny fur! She
is being
treated for an URI and is
such a good girl getting her
medicine. She is doing much
better on her antibiotics
and we expect her to make a
full recovery. She
seems to have lost a bunch
of her fur but it is growing
back in now. It
does not appear that she was
ever able to walk around
before coming to our care. She
is slowly learning to use
her muscles and walk and hop
around.
She is becoming more
interested in her
foster mom and
will let her pet
her and seems to enjoy the
attention.
UPDATE (Aug 2011) Sierra
is still very timid around
new people but is warming up
to her foster mom. She comes
over to greet her foster mom
now when she comes into the
room and will even sit for a
pet. She is hopping around
better as she has much more
space to stretch her legs.
Although she still has a
hard time sitting back on
her back paws and is not
very good at jumping up and can
not jump
over her pen. She is
cautious of new surroundings
and goes about very slowly
until she feels very secure
before checking out the
area. Sierra's litter habits
are very good and she likes
to keep her pen clean. She
has a wonderful appetite and
gets very exited for
her pellets in the morning.
She also likes her hay and
eats it throughout the day.
Sierra enjoys her salad at
night of greens such as
lettuce, dandy lion,
parsley, carrot tops. She
also enjoys the occasional
treat of banana, apple or
plum slice and will take it
very gently from your hands.
She has not demonstrated any
destructive behaviour.

UPDATE:
Even though
she came from a bad
situation, Tilly has
adjusted very quickly and is
a very sweet little girl.
She's not very skittish and
she already loves to sit for
pets. She's even started to
binky and do head shakes!
Tilly loves to eat, and
she's a very good girl about
eating her hay. She is
learning to use a litter

far. Tilly does not enjoy

would love to be pet and

Tilly is very friendly and
she would likely do well
bonded to a neutered male

used to well behaved and
friendly dogs and cats, and
she doesn't seem to mind
them at all.

Island, along with hundreds
of her bunny friends. She
was vet checked upon arrival
and appears to be healthy. She
will be spayed shortly. She
weighs 1.5kg More info on
her to come as her foster
family gets to know her.
Update: Ginny
is adjusting to all the
changes in her life very
quickly. Although she was
very shy and nervous when
she first arrived, she has
quickly blossomed into a
friendly and sweet little
girl and she's learning to
trust very quickly. She has
even started to enjoy being
pet and she'll run over to
her foster mom for
attention. She is currently
being treated for an upper
respiratory infection and
she's even a good girl about
taking her medicine - she
never struggles or fights.
Ginny has a great appetite
and she's learning to eat
lots of hay. She has
started to use a litter box
and she's doing very well
with her training. Ginny is
becoming such a sweetheart
but she really does not
trust being picked up, so
any pets and cuddles need to
be with her four feet on the
ground. Ginny lives with
well behaved and friendly
cats and dogs in her foster
home, and she doesn't seem
to mind them at all. Ginny
would likely do well bonded
to a neutered male bunny.

Sapphire is
a beautiful white Holland
Lop, although when she
arrived in our care, she was
quite yellow from pee
stains. She
came to RR on June 27th 2011
after being rescued by the
Sudbury SPCA from a horrible
situation in Manitoulin
Island, along with hundreds
of her bunny friends. She
was vet checked upon arrival
and appears to be healthy. She
will be spayed shortly. She
weighs 2.4kg More
info on her to come as her
foster family gets to know
her.
UPDATE:
The first day she arrived at
her foster home, she was
afraid of humans and kept to
herself. However, day by day
she is learning her social
skills and now she would
sometimes let you touch her.
If she feels like it, she
will come to you for a
sniff. She loves to
stretch-- possibly because
she was never able to in her
previous home. We strongly
believe that Sapphire will
come around and realize that
she enjoys people's company.
She is very curious and love
exploring around...but watch
out! She can
get into trouble, so
the area she roams must be
bunny proof very well. She
is best for someone who has
a lot of time to show her
what love is and the
patience to teach her.
Sapphire is currently
learning her
litter box skills. This
bunny is a special one! She
is being spayed shortly.

BonBon is
a cute as pie Siamese Sable
Holland lop, who weighs
1.9kg. She came to RR
on June 27th 2011
after being rescued by the
Sudbury SPCA from a bad
situation in Manitoulin
Island, along with hundreds
of her bunny friends. She
was vet checked upon arrival
and appears to be healthy. She
will be spayed shortly. More
info on her to come as her

her.
UPDATE:
She is
a little shy at first but is
easy-going when you spend
some time with her.
She likes to play hide 'n
seek in the tent in her
enclosure and teases you to
chase her! She's definitely
got the affectionate
gene. She's a very
good eater and drinker, and
is a happy girl to care
for. BonBon is currently
learning how to use a
litterbox, and once she's
spayed this will continue to
improve. BonBon would
likely do well bonded to a
neutered male bunny. She
lives with friendly cats in
her foster home, and doesn't
seem at all bothered by
them.
UPDATE from
Dec. 2011: Bon Bon is
doing well in her new
foster home. When
she arrived she was very
scared and skittish, would
not let her foster mom even
touch her, she has been
there a week and some had
time to adjust and has
become more relaxed and
trusting. She now allows a
her foster mom to pet her…
Bob Bon is easy to pick up
and hold but like most buns
would rather not be, She
loves to stretch out on her
side and relax outside of
her cage. She gets lots of
free range time and enjoys
it very much, she has not
shown any signs of being
destructive. She has
perfect litter habits nad would
make a great free range
rabbit. She
loves her a log tunnel and
she has fun with that,
climbing on it and running
through it. One of her
favourite spots to lay for a
nap is behind the office
door. She still won't take
treats from your hand yet
but with time, she will. She
likes parsley, romaine and
some apple. With lots of
attention and TLC from the
right person/family, Bon Bon with
Flourish into a loving
family friend. Could this be
you? |

Comments ::Posey
is a beautiful 4 lb. snow
white spayed loppy bunny who
first came to RR on June 27th 2011,
after being rescued by the
Sudbury SPCA from a bad
situation on Manitoulin
Island. She has resiliently
come through the challenges
in her life that humans have
dealt her and has grown to
trust quite quickly. She
is now a snuggler whom
enjoys being held. Posey has
also become quite adept
at training her Foster Mom
to dispense banana muffin Martin
Mills treats. As
a polite gesture Posey likes
to give your hand a quick
sniff first upon approach
and then, after her ID
check, she has no problem
being picked up or pet.
Posey is quite curious and
loves to investigate her
surroundings. Every new room
is worthy of satisfying her
curiosity. Every new carpet
is worthy of binky testing.
Then when content with her
travels this beautiful
little bunny, worthy herself
of being placed on the front
of a greeting card, will
stretch out her back legs
and fluffy bunny slippers
and lounge like a snow
angel. Even though she is
presently being treated for
both an URI and bacterial
ear infections, Posey is
thriving. She is very easy
to care for, is a good eater
and has wonderful litter
habits. She does not wreak
havoc on her pen and keeps
it tidy and neat. Pretty
Pink Posey is a delightful
bunny who deserves a loving
forever home. A home
with someone that will not
let her down again. |
