is a cute, spayed 8 month
old hotot dwarf bunny. She
was rescued by RR from a
shelter just before her time
there ran out. She was
originally a child's pet,
but they lost interest in
her once she reached the age
of 6 months old. Due to
mishandling by non bunny-savvy
people throughout her life,
Lexi is quite shy of people
and will usually hide when
someone first comes into the
room. However, she does like
to be pat, and will come out
and explore soon after
the person comes into the
room. She will just need
time to warm up to her new
environment. Being a young
female, she is very playful
and curious and can often be
found spanning her
surroundings on the tippiest
of her tippy toes. She LOVES
to throw her toys around and
is quickly learning how to
be a free-range bunny.
At the shelter she was
protective of her cage.
However, in her foster home
this behaviour has not shown
up so far, likely due to the
much lower stress level.
Lexi has a great appetite
for hay, pellets, and
veggies. She is rather
overweight and will need to
continue to be fed a
controlled diet to help her
loose some pounds. She gets
along well with the kitties
in her foster home (though
she is scared of them when
they jump on and off of
furniture), and will likely
do well bonded to a laid
back male bunny. Lexi
has had her health check and
is in perfect health.

Pip and her family were abandoned in the doorway of a flea market, crammed into one of two cages with many other hamsters. Children were hitting and poking the cages, scaring these hamsters. Fortunately, a member of Rabbit Rescue found the cages and was able to bring the hamsters to safety. Pip is a darling little girl, who loves climbing in and out of her house, running in her hamster ball and racing at top speed in her wheel. She is gentle and sweet, and makes her foster family laugh with her daredevil cage climbing skills . Why not take her home and let her win your heart! |

This gorgeous bonded pair of well-loved Holland Lops are the best of
friends and looking for a new forever home. Though heartbroken, their owner can no longer care for them due to severe allergies.
They
love to laze away the afternoon
but they also enjoy running around
the house in search of carrot tops
and banana treats providing hours
of endless fun antics to watch and
join in on! They circle and sniff
and will jump up on you if you’re
on the floor with them. They don’t
love to be picked up but they
never complain. Binky likes a
scratch behind his velvety soft
ears almost as much as Daisy-Mae
loves nose rubs! Both these angels
have perfect litter habits and
enjoy sharing their veggies, hay
and timothy pellets. Binky and
Daisy-Mae are the King and Queen
of any Cardboard play palace (aka
box!) and will make you giggle as
they hold court high atop their
kingdom. For a royal papaya treat
you can get them to do almost
anything!
They

through no fault of their own in
October.

Floppy
and Snowy are a sweet bonded pair
who must be adopted together. Both
are spayed/neutered. Snowy
originally came from RR but was
recently surrendered to us with
her mate Floppy. Both had
excessively long nails which have
caused sore hocks, but we are
optimistic that they will heal up.
Floppy came to us with a
respiratory infection and he is on
medication for it. Once he
is better both him and Snowy will
receive a molar filing as our vet
has found sharp points on their
teeth. Once they are
healthy, they will be ready for
adoption! They come with
their favorite toys and hidey
house. They are playful,
litter trained, and love
attention.

is approximately. 91/2 years
old. He is litter box

faithfully. He is not
nervous or aggressive and
gets along with cats and
dogs (as long as they don't
chase him). He is a curious
rabbit and fairly
independent. He eats rabbit
food but also enjoys fresh
vegetables and a little
fruit. He will eat right out
of your hand. He enjoys
being petted and brushed. He
also does not mind when you
have to trim his nails. He enjoys
skipping around the backyard
and will lay in the garden
and enjoy the shade.
He
is a healthy rabbit, and
although he is an older
bunny, he would make an
amazing pet for someone.
His current owner must give
him out due to allergies in

Bongo came in as a stray on Sept 22nd. He was so badly matted that he had to be sent to a vet to be shaved and groomed. Comments :: You want perfect, this boy is perfect! He is the sweeeettest boy ever.
Knuffie came into rescue with his bonded friend Aggie, sadly, Aggie passed away recently and left him all alone. He is looking for love. He is a big boy, approx 9.8 lbs. He thinks he is a dog! He begs at the fridge, and follows you around. He loves attention, though isn't as fond of being carried. He had his front teeth removed in Jan 08 and has been just great since. this does not hinder what this boy can eat though! He could still chew wires if they are small, but otherwise is a wonderful free range boy.
He uses his litter box perfectly too. He is used to cats and well behaved dogs also, will even share his dinner with them! Watch their food though, he does like to try and sneak it.
He is hilarious! Very sweet, no aggression, and is used to dogs and cats. Very well litter trained. He likes to know what you are doing, and will follow you around to see. He can eat anything any other bun can eat, with the exception of needing his carrots and celery cut into smaller chunks (he had his incisors removed) . He does come when he is called.
Also he is not destructive so would do well free range in a bun proof home. and is ok with kids.

On October 25, 2008 there were a number of cages full of hamsters left at the entrance to a flea market. Kids were poking at cages and pestering what turned out to be 4 babies and 5 adult hamsters. Rabbit Rescue agreed to take them in and were able to get all of them into
fosterhomes.
There was one male, one nursing pregnant female with her four babies, one pregnant female and another female that was thankfully not pregnant. There was a note left on the cages explaining how to breed hamsters so obviously this is what they were doing. The two pregnant females had another 10 and 13 babies bringing the total to 32 hamsters that these "people" had the audacity to leave for someone else to care for.

has been through so many
temporary homes in the last
couple of years; she's just
looking for a home to love
her as she is and truly be
her forever home.

is learning to trust again,
and she's made progress in
her foster home, but it

currently overweight from a
diet of too many pellets and

will lose the weight as she
gets more exercise and the

gradually reduced.

Burberry is a sweet 4 year old Harlequin Dwarf mix who was surrendered to Rabbit Rescue because her owner no longer had time for her. She spent most of her life in a rather small cage with very little attention, and would only get out once or twice a week for 15 minutes while the cage was cleaned, only to be tormented by the puppy she was living with. As a result of this lack of exercise, and a very poor diet, Burberry is slightly overweight. She loves to binky and jump on and off of furniture, and lie down stretching her legs back as far as they will go! Burberry would love to be able to live in a large pen or be free range, as she can sometimes be protective of small spaces, although this behaviour is almost completely gone since her spay surgery. She loves to be pet on her forehead, and will eat hay like their is no tomorrow! She would also likely do very well bonded to a laid back male bunny, as she has been lonely for far too long and loved to give kisses to another dwarf she once met.

This bonded pair of rabbits

They were surrendered to a shelter where they were going
to be euthanized. RR took
them in just in the nick of
time. Both were
treated for medical
conditions (bladder
infections, skin parasites)
and Karlie was spayed (Mack
is neutered). They are
now healthy and looking for
an adoptive family to love
them! Mack loves to

petted, and they can always
be found snuggling and
grooming each other. They

Update: RR removed a huge
bladder stone from Macks
bladder. He recovered well
and they can both be adopted
out now. They will need to
remain on a low calcium diet
for life. This is not
difficult to do, they just
need to have 100% timothy
hay and pellets, and avoid
vegetables containing
calcium.

Comments :: Gracie is a beautiful girl whose ultimate dream would be to have a home where there is a bunny-proofed garden for her to hop around in, (and also practice her Olympic Binky’s for Canada!) She is a friendly girl who also enjoys snuggling next to you on the sofa whilst you caress her ears as you watch TV (that’s what humans were put on this earth for, right??). Her owner is sadly, (very sadly) no longer able to keep her and so Gracie is looking for a special home where she will be doted on and allowed to roam around as much as possible. She greatly enjoys eating any papers that are left lying around, but also enjoys hay, dandelion leaves, carrot tops and the odd slice of banana. Comments :: Higgins' foster mom says that he is a hoot to have in her home. He loves to play with his toys, especially the ones that make noise. He is a very curious bunny who loves taste testing everything. He has lots of energy and loves being out of his cage. He is very much a people bunny. He is in the process of being litter trained as he loves getting his apple chunks as rewards for good behavior. He has a beautiful tummy according to his foster grandma as its white with some black speckled dots. He will climb all over you if u lie down on the floor with him. He is ok with being picked up as long as he feels he is being supported and secure. He is not so much for sitting still as there are so many cool things to explore, but when he tires he will eventually come over and insist upon some relaxing head massages. He came to us when he rant out of time at a local shelter. RR has had him neutered and health checked in July 2008.

Headly is a wonderful bunny who loves to be pet and cuddled. He enjoys romaine lettuce, carrots, pineapple chunks, and lots of hay! Headly is an adventurous boy who loves to roam free outside his pen and go exploring in the backyard. Mozzarella was surrendered to a shelter when the owners could no longer keep him. When he was brought in he was being fed cheese slices and yesterday's news litter. There was nothing in his cage so he was covered in urine. He seems to be in good shape considering what he has gone through. He is a nice bunny but he is nearly out of time at the shelter he is at. Comments :: Saturn amuses himself by playing and tossing apple branches. He loves receiving kisses on his nose and cuddling. He arrived at the foster home bonded to a quiet female bunny, but the bond later collapsed and they are being adopted out as single bunns as we were unsuccessful in trying to get them back together. He was neutered upon arrival in our care. Saturn is litter trained. He likes to arrange his furniture to his liking such as having his litter box in the middle of his pen. He enjoys living free-ranged. He will follow people around the house, enjoying the large space; yet, enjoys hiding in small spaces. Parker has had a rough time. She was one of the "Barrie Bunch", 400 rabbits surrendered to the SPCA. She did well for the first bit in her foster home, but then developed some dental issues. She's had her incisors removed, and a molar as well. She's recovering wonderfully! She would be the perfect free-range bunny as she isn't able to chew wire or wood anymore. She has very good litter habits, and may bond well to a laid back male. She has a ball she loves to play with and push around her room. She will need only a slightly modified diet now, simply her veggies chopped up for her, and hay done a bit different. She can eat pellets no problem, all VERY simple. She is quite laid back, and excellent with well behaved dogs, and quite enjoys being groomed by cats. |

was a stray staying at a
shelter who tried their very
hardest to find his family
by putting adverts in the
paper! No family came to
claim Huey and he now needs
a home and someone to love
him. He was just neutered in
June 2008. Huey is
charmingly clumsy at times,
and is always very
entertaining. He would
appreciate a family who is
open to suggestions as Huey
has some definite ideas
about how his cage should be
set up to maximize flopping
area!
Although
he's a little scared of
being picked up, Huey
tolerates it and will always
let you pet him. In fact, if
you rub him the right way
he'll crouch down, close his
eyes, and looks very happy.
Huey will hop up to you when
you come close to him, and
doesn't seem to mind a lot
of change. He loves to relax
and stretch out, and thinks
he only needs two feet -
always standing on his back
feet to look up high and all
around. We think he wants to
be an archaeologist and
explore different marks
everything as his property
... maybe he'll own

Gusgus was rescued along with some 300 other bunnies from terrible conditions. Given the circumstances and condition that he was found in you would not expect a bunny like him to love people. But love people he does. He loves attention and will snuggle with his foster mom on the sofa or on the floor. He is a very sweet guy who expresses his happiness so easily. He responds well to his name and comes when called, he can binky and play as only a bunny plays and if you sit long enough with him he will give kisses. He has shown some interest in the other bunnies in his foster home which indicates that he will be very happy bonded to a spayed female. His foster mom says that Gusgus is a very special boy and she knows his forever home is out there. She is sure that once you meet him he will steal your heart too.

Lola
lost her mate (her father)
Chucky on June 4th.
They shared a very strong bond.
They were surrendered to a shelter
when their owner no longer wanted
them. The shelter had separated
them, not realizing they were bonded
(and not wanting them to reproduce).
The shelter adopted out Chucky only
to have him be returned a month
later. they both remained in the
shelter for one year, never having
contact with each other, but being
able to see one another. Once in our
care, they went their separate ways
in different foster homes. Lola
became extremely depressed and would
not eat. It was then we found out
from their previous shelter that
they seemed to get comfort from each
other. They were immediately placed
in the same foster home and bonded
instantly.
Its a miracle they found their way
back to each other but now
with the passing of Chucky
we are very concerned for
Lola. It is very
important that we find
another mate for her so that
she doesn't become depressed
again. This can be
life threatening for a bunny
that is grieving for their
mate.

Dary is the most pleasant bunny. She is very friendly & loves the human touch. She is very petite, but has the craziest binkies. She is very playful, she loves to chase you around & do wild binkies at the same time. Chewing is one of her favorite things, so great care in bunnyproofing is needed. She would do well free range, just a little more time for litter training is needed. She has a very small a appetite, but loves to eat tons of greens & hay. She is also fine with cats, she doesn't seem territoral. Once you see Dary & pet her you will fall in love with her, its hard not to. She came to us from a local shelter when her time there was up. She is being spayed at the end of May 2008 as she was treated for a respiratory infection when she first came in and was not able to go under anesthetic at that time. She is now going great and will be spayed.

Velveteen
is a true gentleman! He is
handsome, playful and full of
love. His litter box habits are
incredible and he’s not into
chewing things he isn’t supposed
to. Now apple branches on the
other hand, he loves. He
loves to be petted and will lay
there for as long as you care to
give him his rubs. He also likes
to snuggle and nudge a lot.
Sometimes he seems to be more dog
than rabbit. When he’s happy or
excited he wags his tail
ferociously and he’s even been
known to chase it! He has one
undisputable rabbit trait though.

tail with your finger or tickle
his nose with a crumpled up paper
towel and watch him go!

Dobby is a very sweet little jet
black rex who was literally out of
time at the shelter he was at. He
was rescued by RR, has been
neutered and is now in a foster
home. He is very sweet and loving
and just oh so soft; like touching a
cotton ball. He loves to be out

mom. He will follow her around or

Comments :: Bunny is a sweet, medium-sized girl. She was surrendered to Rabbit Rescue and is now doing very well in her foster home-- although when she first arrived her nails were so long that they were curled over and she had to painfully walk on them. She is extremely curious and loves to get out of her pen and explore. Her goal in life is to be the first "spiderman bunny" and climb up walls and buildings. She has already achieved leaping onto a very tall table, what's next?! Bunny is very comfortable around people and other animals, and there is not an ounce of aggression present in her demeanour. As soon as you start petting her she will lie down and flop. She loves to make herself comfortable and when she is startled she will go to the nearest human for protection. What a doll! She has a great appetite for hay and her litter habits outside of her pen are amazing. She doesn't even mind to be picked up! Bunny would likely do very well bonded to another bunny. Catherine is a big lovebunny!
She has been passed between
numerous homes at no fault
of her own, but despite this
she settled in to her
current foster home in
minutes! She LOVES to
stretch her legs back for a
big bunny nap, and has even
been spotted sleeping in a
cat scratching condo! She is
very well behaved outside
her cage, so much so that
she is now free range and
loving it! She enjoys
sleeping at night with her
foster mom in her bed, and has
even been seen sharing
the bed with the resident
cats! Catherine loves
to snuggle and will nudge
anyone and everyone for
attention. She is so sweet!
She doesn't appreciate
things being moved around
her face, unless of course

Waffle

These white
bunnies with blue, yes, BLUE eyes are very sweet! They were dumped at
a veterinary clinic. The owner ran in, dropped them off and ran out. They were in horrible condition and housed on dirty newspaper. RR spayed and neutered them right away. Max went into respiratory arrest after his neuter, but we were able to revive him with mouth to nose resuscitation. He is fine now & would be
fine to undergo surgery in the future if he ever needed it.
Neither are deaf, an ailment that is common in white cats with blue eyes.
They are very bonded, and love each other a lot.
Both are inquisitive, though Max is obviously the leader.
They love tossing their toys, and cardboard boxes around.
Max would much rather be exploring then cuddling, but Ruby doesn't mind it at all.
Both are just learning how to use their litter box, which directly following their spay/neuter is normal.
They are also o.k. with well behaved dogs.

(darker bunny) and Destinee are two baby
Chinchilla Giant sisters that were
seized by the SPCA from a meat
farm in March 2008. They are sweet
little girls are lucky enough to
have been given the chance to
realize that humans can be kind to
them, and they are learning to
trust and enjoy human
companionship. They enjoy cuddling
with each other and stretching,
rolling, sprawling, and doing
every other imaginable baby
behaviour! When they first arrived
they were quite filthy from being
crammed together with 100's of
other bunnies, but they quickly
began grooming away the evidence
of their previous neglect. They
are very young right now, but will
be spayed as soon as they are old
enough.

Honey a male,
Holland lop was adopted out and came
back to us 18 months later, now
bonded to George (female) who the
owners adopted from a shelter.
George, female dwarf & Honey,
male lop, are very sweet bunnies
that love each other very
much. They are
inseparable. George is the
smaller bunny of the two who gets
regular molar filings in order to
keep her in top form. But don’t
let that stop you from coming to
meet these two.
They
are very friendly, loving bunnies
that just love attention. Honey
loves to play and binky; his
favorite things to binky on are
blankets. He will race around
blankets spread on the floor and
binky like crazy. He also likes his
cheeks rubbed and is curious
sand likes to explore. George is the
quieter of the two, but she does
love to explore and play in and
around boxes. She likes to be
groomed and will sit on your lap and
give bunny kisses! They do
love attention and will race over to
greet their foster mom as she comes
in the room and especially if she is
in their play area. George is
forever running around her feet and
Gracie just puddles for attention.
These two have incredibly good
litter habits and are not
destructive at all. Toys and boxes
are not chewed at all, they do love
their hay, pellet food and veggies
and the occasional treat. They will
make great free-range bunnies.
Their
foster mom is sure that once you
meet them, they will steal your
heart. George and Honey are just
waiting for you to come and meet
them. So when are you coming?

Bunbun
was dumped at a shelter by his
careless owners. He rant out of
time there, so RR came to his
rescue. Bunbun is very mild
mannered, and adapted easily to
the comings and goings of the
three humans in his foster home.
He is quite independent and likes
being able to hop in and out of
his cage whenever he chooses. He
doesn't seem to mind being picked
up or stroked. He devours spinach,
loves his cardboard box house and
spends his time shredding
newspaper to smithereens.
He's a real fun little guy!

a sweet New Zealand rabbit
who enjoys all the attention

She was also rescued by the
SPCA with many others. She
does the "Bunny
flop" when she is
relaxed, and loves to be
petted. Her litter habits
are quite good considering
she has just been spayed
(March 18th). This poor girl
had back to back litters
prior to coming into Rabbit
Rescue. She's not a little
bunny, but about the size of
a large cat at 10lbs, and
enjoys playing with her toys
interactively with you. She
has been treated with
Revolution for ear mites as

came to us December 2007
when her time at a local
shelter came to a close.
She was spayed upon arrival
and her uterus looked
suspicious so we sent it off
for histological analysis.
The histo report showed that
she had early stages of
uterine carcinoma, but that
it was caught early enough,
had not spread anywhere and
she was given an excellent
prognosis. We were all very
happy about this news,
especially Kiwi who was
clearly spayed just in the
nick of time.
Kiwi
is a very sweet dutch bunny
who loves to be pet and
snuggle close to her human
companions. She enjoys
playing in her log house and
running free around a
spacious room for short
periods of time.
Kiwi's favorite treats
include pineapple
chunks and romaine lettuce.
Kiwi is a submissive bunny
and would do well bonded to
another rabbit.

Tashi
is a male Californian (white with
grey ears and nose) pictured here
beside his mate Topo who sadly
crossed the rainbow bridge.
Tashi was adopted by a family from
Rabbit Rescue in 2005. He is
overweight from lack of exercise
(both bunnies were living in a
garage when surrendered to us) but
will slowly loose the extra
weight. The
pair were surrendered to RR
because their owner could no
longer look after them and could
not afford medical care.
Tashi needed immediate surgery
upon arrival, to remove a large
abscess under his chin. The
surgery went well and he is fully
recovered. Tashi
is a timid boy but he melts for
pets and loves to bunny flop! Tashi
is littertrained. He can be
a chewer but it seems to be in
part attention seeking and is
easily stopped with chew
deterrents and lots of bunny-safe
branches to chew. With some
time and patience, Tashi would
love to be full to semi free
range. Tashi would do
well bonded to another bunny
