Objectives

Rabbit Rescue Inc. is a registered charity dedicated to finding new homes for domestic rabbits that have been abused, abandoned or neglected.

Our objectives are to develop and provide programs and services that educate the public regarding animals welfare, and to provide protectoin and adoption services to domestic animals under risk of cruelty.

Rabbit Rescue works with numerous shelters and individual owners across Ontario to find rabbits new permanent homes.

Rabbit Rescue Inc. rescues on average 500 animals each year.

Volunteers

Rabbit Rescue Inc. relies heavily on volunteers.  Interested in volunteering?  We are always looking for foster homes, volunteers to care for our rabbits at the adoption centre, drivers (to shelters and/or vet clinics).  We are always looking for people to make crafts for people (for fundraising), and toys for bunnies.  Please contact us if you would like more information.

History

Rabbit Rescue Incorporated was founded Feb. 2002.  Why a rescue specifically for rabbits?  Rabbits are one of the most abandoned and neglected pets, yet there are very few resources avalible to assist them.  Shelters have an extreemly difficult time adopting them out, and as the number of unwanted rabbits continues to grow, the need for Rabbit Rescue becomes more and more apparant.  Rabbit Rescue Inc. is the largest rabbit rescue in Canada.  While we do focus primarily on rabbits, we are also able to provide protection and adoption services to hedgehogs, chinchillas, sugargliders, rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, degus and guinea pigs.

Rabbit Rescue was Incorporated Oct. 2002, and became a registered Charity in June 2003.

Adoption Centre

We are currently looking to lease a property so we are able to help even more animals each year! The search is on for the perfect place!

Until then, all animals are care for in foster homes. Upon filling out the adoption application, you will be put in touch with the foster parents of any animals you would like to meet.  This enables you to meet the animal in an environment it is comfortable in, and see its true personality!
